Summary

To better promote its 2010 Mammoth Blackout Weekend, BlackNLA.com  asked us to come up with something that they it had never done before.

The Approach

  • We created the “My Mammoth Blackout Experience” Video Contest to further promote the annual ski trip through user-generated content. Trip participants were asked to create their own videos, post them to a dedicated YouTube channel, then promote it to encourage voting.
  • BlacknNLA’s social media profiles and email newsletter were also used to promote contest and to generate votes for favorite video from fans and followers. The video that met all contest requirements and received the most views and engagement won a cash prize and free hotel accommodations for next trip.

Results

  • The top 3 videos received over 20,000 views while Facebook fan page membership increased from over 2,000 to 3,000 over a period of three months.
